Posthuman is the 4th LP by Harm’s Way and their debut on Metal Blade Records. For this album, I pitched (and sourced) the artwork of David Altmejd for the cover and back cover, specifically the piece Eye, which he graciously allowed us to use. This piece illustrates the album’s themes of technological dystopia, human degeneration, and of course stark violence, which is present on the record both sonically and lyrically. The inside of the gatefold extends the idea of Eye as a sculpture by imagining this space as inside of the head, represented by a collage of geodes and the lyrics themselves, which begin to read as thoughts. A remix of this album with new artwork was also made a couple of years later.
